Happy New Year to one and all - I hope you all had fun over the festive period and are all sticking to your New Year resolutions. I can't believe that 2016 will be my 14th year at Moortown - many things have changed and I think going forward Moortown has never been in a better position. 2016 sees us hosting the Yorkshire Amateur in August, and 2017 we will host the Home Internationals - when looking at the list of courses that have hosted the Home Internationals, Moortown is now being viewed in the Premier League of golf clubs.
The course has been shut for a couple of days and a review will be made on Saturday morning, but it will
be carrying only. Steve Robinson sent me this annual rainfall chart for your perusal, it doesn't make happy reading, not quite as bad as 2012, but over 12 inches of rain in November and December is where we are now. But the worrying thing is we have already had more rain in January than last year, after six days!
