Captain's Drive In
The Captains Drive In on Sunday was fantastically supported and despite a forty mile an hour left to right wind new Captain Pete Wilson must have hit the straightest Captain's Drive of all time! We managed a combined distance of 710 yards and newly elected committee member Dave Ellis guessed perfectly in the sweepstake in aid of Centre Point the Captain's charity for the year.
There was a great atmosphere in the clubhouse afterwards - I'm sure we are in for a great year.
Winter Order of Merit - Individual Stableford
A little rest from the incessant rain on Saturday saw some fantastic scoring in the individual Stableford penultimate competition in the Winter Order of Merit.
Tom Loukes took division one with 39 points, Tom has been on the winter coaching programme with Eddie and I believe that it is the first thing Tom has ever won! John Walsh continued his fantastic form in the Winter Order of Merit taking second place from another of Eddie's winter coaching pupils Tom Limbert both scoring 38 points. David McCartney took division two also with 39 points beating Kevin Henry - David spent all last year on a coaching programme with me and both David and Kevin purchased new Callaway XR irons last year - just saying!!
It's the last Winter Order of Merit event on Saturday with all still up for grabs in both divisions.
