Spring Medal
Well half of it was right last Saturday, there wasn't a sniff of spring about the weather but that didn't detract from some really good scoring.
John Dart led the way with a nett 68 to win division one by two shots from Iain Esplin.
Iain admitted to bottling it on the last hole taking a 6 for a gross 78, what Iain didn't realise that The Collinge Trophy is a gross competition for over 55's and his 78 was good enough to win - name on the dinner menu already, well done Iain.
Graham Etherington is showing some good early form along with Philip Murtagh who both scored nett 71's.
It was last year's Captain Jonty who free from his chain of office scored a nett 70 to beat Mike West on a count back for Division two.
FootJoy fitting day
The FootJoy shoe fitting day was again a huge success, thank you to everybody who came along and were fitted by Lewis, it never ceases to amaze me how many people are a different size than the shoes they are wearing. If you missed out on Saturday we will be having another fitting day later in the year, but this one will be different.
Lewis and I will endeavour to increase your clubhead speed by fitting you for the correct type of shoe for your swing. I know it all sounds rubbish but FootJoy have seen players gain 4-5 mph clubhead speed by wearing the correct shoes - watch this space!
