Spring four ball better ball

A storming back nine of 23 points was just enough for Chris Brockbank and Charlie Parker to pip Malcolm Slinger and Paul Fullerton on the back nine having both scored 45 points in the Spring Four ball Better Ball. 

Jamie Dunnion and David Robinson were cursing after finishing one point back and both failed to score on the 18th hole.

The Cleek at Ilkley

On Sunday The Captain's team retained the cleek at Ilkley with a comfortable 5-3 win. 

The highlight of the day was The President's Hole in One on the 15th hole! It was nice to play with their new pro Andrew Driver and even better to put a point on the board early on for Moortown. Sunday was a busy day at Moortown with the AmAm taking place, 45 teams of four playing and some great feedback from the competitors on the condition of the course. Results can be found here. 

A scratchy start

The Scratch team have not got off to the best of start losing 4-2 to Wakefield at home and then losing by the same margin away to Cookridge last week. If you can spare time on a Monday night to either caddy or just support it is always appreciated.

The Ladies Scratch team, newly promoted to the premier division, sadly lost at home to Shipley, but held Wheatley to a draw. 

The Ladies A Team continued where they left off last year and got the season underway with home matches against Bracken Ghyll, winning 6 to 1, followed by a 5 to 2 win against Cave Castle. 

The B team also continued last year's success winning 4 to 3 away to Beverley, and 6 to 1 away at Wike away. 

The first Evening League match away to Scarcroft resulted in a good 30.5 to 19.5 win, don't ask me how they score that one! 

Invitations Day

There are still some vacancies for the Invitation Day on the 18th June, you can book online or call the shop if you would like us to enter you. If you have already entered it would be really helpful if we could have the name of you guest prior to the day to enable us to prepare all the cards and leaderboard.

There are a number of two balls on the start sheet for this Saturdays major, The J Arthur Sykes if you fancy a game then just give the Pro Shop a call.
