May Stableford

Howard Greenwood ran away in Division Two scoring 42 points in the May Stableford to beat Charlie Parker by 3 points. Stuart Santon continued his good run of form with a level par round and 41 points to win Division One. 

Tom Loukes is another member in good form, following on from his winter coaching with Eddie and armed with a custom fitted set of new irons, Tom has had five rounds out of the last six under his handicap, reducing from 9.4 to 7.5 - Tom did get very giddy on Saturday playing the first 11 holes in 2 under par gross, but faltered on the home stretch for 39 points and third place behind Robert Allison. 

Christine Mannion won the Ladies Stableford Silver Division on Sunday with 37 points, with Susie Johnson winning the Bronze Division with 36 points. 

Captain's Away Day

Captain's Away Day on Friday to Pleasington was a great success. 

Jonathan Flint brought in the winning team of Jonty Naylor, Matthew Fawke and John Wilson, who beat the Vice Captain's team of Andrew Milner, Antony Burrows and Mike McCarthy on count back.

The R&A 9 hole

The R&A 9 hole competition on Monday was won by two of my winter coaching pupils Simon Kisiel and Iain Robb, they will now be off to Royal Troon hosted by the R&A, what a great prize, enjoy it guys glad that the hard work is paying off. 

Captain's Day

Don't forget it is Captain's Day (Saturday, 25 June) sign up at 6pm on Friday. 

Tickets can be obtained from 5pm and the draw for order taking place at 6pm. 

I won't be there to take you bookings this year but I have got my best look alike to stand in and Lynn will be in the office be doing the honours!

Junior Green Tee Gathering

Just a quick reminder that it's the next Junior Green Tee gathering this Sun. The tee is booked at the slightly earlier time of 13.00. 

Thus, I suggest meeting on the putting green at 12.45.

Tom Gray Wins Yorkshire Boys Championship 

On Wednesday Tom Gray followed in the footsteps of recent Masters champion Danny Willett (2005), British Masters winner Matt Fitzpatrick (2011), and 2014 English men's amateur champion Nick Marsh (2012), by winning the Yorkshire Boys title at Fulford. Tom fired a 3 under par 69 which was the best score of the day by 4 shots and followed it with a 76 to win by two shots from Daniel Bradbury from Wakefield. 

This adds to Tom's collection of Yorkshire titles having won the under 14's title in 2012, he will be hoping to add the big one of The Yorkshire Championship at Moortown in August.

Invitation Day and Clubhouse Clearance 

There are one or two spaces still left for Invitation Day on Saturday, 18 June if you would like to play then either do it online or contact the shop and we will book you in. 

If you have already booked it really helps with organisation on the day if we have the name and club where your partner is a member and if you could pay prior to the day it saves all the chaos in the shop. 

 

Shop Sale

On that Saturday we are holding a massive clubhouse clearance sale where we will have lots of bargains too low to mention never mind put in the shop. 

Jo will be in the TV room all day, prices are so low I am afraid it will be cash, cheque or card on the day - no shop credits. Under Armour summer range is selling well with the 10% off one item and 20% off if you buy two or more pieces. 

The new logo range from FootJoy is also going really well, as are there range of easy care trousers - pop in and have a try on, I am a total convert having worn wool trousers for years.
