Geoff keeps his cool for a magnificent win
It's not often you have two blobs in a Stableford and win, never mind win by 3 points - but Geoff Mortimer despite no points on the 10th and 11th still had 26 points stood on the 12th tee!
Geoff had played the front 9 holes in 2 under par gross off 11 handicap for 26 points, after his minor wobble after the half-way house Geoff steadied the ship and score a further 15 points for 41 points. Iain Robb continued his good form since his winter coaching with a third round below his handicap this season for 2nd place beating the ever consistent Stuart Santon on the back 9.
Alistair Brown took Division Two also with 41 points despite not scoring on the 18th, with another winter coaching pupil Paul Robinson taking second place with 38 points beating Julian Creasey on the back 9.

The Captain's Team vs. Formby
The Captain's team put up slightly better opposition at home to Formby than last year when we suffered a whitewash, losing 4-2 this year. John Parrot the former World Snooker Champion played for Formby and according to the Vice-Captain he was pretty useful at golf too.
The Scratch Team
The scratch team took a 5-1 beating at Wike Ridge on Monday, but the juniors took revenge on Tuesday reversing the score line at Moortown on Tuesday night.
Invitation Day
Invitation Day this Saturday and I'm still short of a lot of guests names, if you could let me know your guests name, club and handicap ASAP it really helps in the organisation of the day.
The Open Qualifier
Then Monday it's The Open Championship Regional Qualifying at Moortown.
We have a strong contingent playing this year - Ben Firth tees off at 10.50am, David Houlding at 11.01am, Nick McCarthy at 11.12am, Simon Stephens at 11.50am and newly crowned Yorkshire Boys Champion Tom Gray at 12.12pm.
Please try and come along and support it always adds to the day if there are more spectators.
US Open
US Open this weekend and Oakmont looks amazing, if not very difficult.
Just got a sneaking feeling that it's going to be a left hander, Phil is on form with a second last week and desperately wants the grand slam, and Bubba was really good there in 2007.
