Jubilee Trophy
It was a case of Déjà Vu on Saturday when Eddie Winn and his partner Pete Langstaff scored 42 points for the second year running to successfully defend the Jubilee Trophy, being the first pair ever to do so in the 58 year history of The Jubilee Trophy.
Elliot Kay & Matthew Reed scored 41 points for second place with Sue Preston & John Trenham scoring 40 Points for third and Richard Jackson & Kate Dewhurst 39 Points for fourth place.
David Ellis & John Pollard took the best gross prize with 32 points.
A special mention to Graham Etherington's father John, who holed his second shot on the 14th hole, one way to get a share of the twos pot!
Spot the Difference - apart from Vice-Captain Robert getting in on the act this year!!
Club Championship Final
Rob Treweek won a closely fought Club Championship final on Sunday beating Tom Gray 2 & 1. It is 20 years since Rob won his first of four club championships at Moortown, and 30 years since he won the club championship at Leeds.
Well done Rob, life in the old dog yet! Hard luck Tom in your first club championship final, your time will come.
The Lawson Brown Final
I couldn't lose in The Lawson Brown final as both Malcolm Slinger and Simon Kisiel both have been taking lessons over the past year!
It was Simon who came through the winner after being one down after 8 holes he played under par golf to beat Malcolm 4 and 3.
Ladies J. Arthur Sykes Final
In the ladies J Arthur Sykes final Liz Milner won a really closely fought match against Julie Batchelor on the last green.
Winter coaching packages
There has been a great take up of the winter coaching package with a few spaces still left, so if you are serious about your game and would like to be a winner like Simon, who has been involved in the last two year's winter coaching programmes, sign up now and make a difference in 2017.
We have a fantastic indoor studio with GC2 monitor so we can continue to work throughout the winter no matter what the weather throws at us. Click here for more information.

Work has started...
You will have noticed that the work has started on the irrigation system with large amounts of the main pipe work having already been laid. During the work it is impossible to mark all the areas with white lines but all areas of ground work are to be considered Ground Under Repair and appropriate relief may be taken as per Rule 25-1.
Look out...
It's an early newsletter this week as I fly out to the Ryder Cup first thing on Monday morning. I think the Americans have probably realised that leaving the last pick until the 11th hour isn't a good idea, but at the time of writing I still don't know who it will be, so we'll have to see if it's a master stroke.
Just a reminder if you want to look out for me on telly, I will be the official observer for the second foursome game on Friday, third foursome game on Saturday and the eighth singles match on Sunday. The role is similar to a lines man and I will be up in front of where the balls land for the group, so the best chance of seeing me will be if I get hit or nearly hit by one of the balls!!
Have a good week, enjoy the Ryder Cup and let's hope I'm coming back next week on the plane with that little gold trophy.
