The Masters

Well that has certainly got the season off to a great start - what a fantastic Masters and I am sure everyone was happy that finally Sergio got the monkey off his back despite beating an Englishman. After rescuing his par on the 13th and Rose not being able to make birdie, I thought that Sergio's iron play on the last 5 holes and the play off was some of the finest I have ever seen. Justin Rose certainly showed his true class in defeat, lets hope we are now on a run of European winners like the late 80's and early 90's.


 

Sydney Groves

The scoring on Saturday for the Sydney Groves was some of the best I have ever seen too. John Fearn armed with a new Callaway Epic driver and Charlie Parker led the way with a great 67.5. Two shots behind were 3 pairs of David Barnfield and Andrew Beddis, Elliott Kay and Ninian Watt and Gary Young and Jon Cohen (Jon seems to be making a bit of a habit of being on the leaderboard recently.)
