Medal Competition
Tom Gray produced one of those rare exceptional rounds at Moortown on Saturday - four under par after a run of three birdies on the 5th,6th and 7th saw Tom out in 32 shots and then despite the only two blemishes on his card on the 10th and 14th, Tom birdied the last for 66, one off the white tee course record.
Tom Loukes last out probably thought that a nett score in the 60's normally wins any medal off the white tees at Moortown but 69 unfortunately was well off the pace this Saturday.
It was again a good day for Eddie and my pupils with Tim Broadhead winning Division Two with a 69, Tom Loukes as I've said also with 69, Gary Young, Peter Forshaw and Simon Stephens all returning 70's, all having been on winter coaching - it might get boring but it just keeps happening!!
Sue Preston continued her great run of form over the last few weeks to win the Ladies Medal on Sunday, after 9 holes Sue probably didn't think it was going to be her day but a four over par gross back 9 off a handicap of 23 certainly was too hot for the rest of the field.
Callaway Demo Day Friday 9 June 12.00-4.00pm
If you just fancy a trial of the Epic range, or want to try the new wedges and irons just pop along.
FootJoy Shoe Fitting 6 - 20 June
Don't forget to book your appointment to see if your shoes are holding you back. The new dynamic Foot-Joy fitting system is here at Moortown for two weeks for free testing, some players have seen increases in distance just from wearing the right type of shoes, come along and see for yourself. A bit of a rest from the white tee medals for a few weeks now with a yellow tee Stableford on Saturday followed by Invitation Day and Captain's Day the following weeks.
US Open Sweepstake
The US OPEN is next week so we will be running a sweepstake - £2 per square 3 for £5 with prizes for the best and worst scores each day and the top 4 players. New venue this year at Erin Hills - looks tight and no doubt will be down to who's the best on the greens - only one man to tip Jordan Spieth, not sure you'll get great odds but with my golf tipping form it might be worth staying clear! |
Not looking great… Let’s face it; the weather forecast is looking rather bleak over the coming days, but don’t let this stop you venturing down to the club for a game of golf. If you do find yourself getting drenched on the course, we have a range of Ryder Cup-inspired outerwear from ProQuip with your name on. Think of it as preparation for the winter.
