Amazingly this is my 500th Newsletter. In 2006 I started writing a little bit to contribute and keep you in touch with what’s happening at Moortown. Billy claims Freddie White Trophy

It was young Billy Snowden who won the Freddie White Trophy last Saturday with a fine 68 nett, beating Martyn Davies by one shot. Bradley had two nines of 40 for a gross 80 with a birdie on the 16th hole being the stand out of a very consistent round. Simon Kisiel took third with a nett 70, but was not happy with his 4, 6 finish.

Moortown host Men's Home Internationals

On Monday England Golf took over the course for the Home Internationals. The course was presented in superb condition by Steve Robinson and all his team. The compliments from all the players I have spoken to should make us all very proud of Moortown.

The standard of the golf I have seen so far is superb and has made me realise how far the young players of today hit the ball. I saw one of the England players take 3 wood from the 15th tee to lay up short of the bunker short of the green, but to then only knock it 15 yards short of the green! England beat Scotland 9-6 on Wednesday and Ireland beat Wales by the same score.
