Invitation day Invitation Day was won in a canter by Cal Counsell-Jackson and ex-member Ross Counsell with 45 points 3 points clear of Patrick Lathom-Sharp & Tom Williams and Tom Gray & Luke Whitaker who both scored 42 points. Betty Lodge Trophy On Tuesday Sue Rogerson won the Betty Lodge Trophy with 42 points holding off defending champion Molly Lodge who produced another fine score of 40 points to reduce her handicap again to 22. Ann Weston won the Penuel Laws trophy with 38 points. Lady Captain Vicky Renny won The Rosemary Readman Par competition last Sunday finishing 2 Up. Crosby Beacon Congratulations to Huyton and Prescott who won the Crosby Beacon last Sunday with a team score of 217 (+1) beating Formby on the 4th score. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be for Me, Tom, Rob Treweek and Paul Snowden. As ever we had the best support of any team – thanks to Graham Etherington and Dave McCarthy who were fantastic spotters. David Marriott, David Boyd, Gary Young and the Vice-Captain who all were top caddies. Our score of 232 was good enough for a middle of the table finish, but I must make special mention of Paul Snowden who shot level par despite being 4 over after four holes. After starting on the 10th hole, we turned and Paul started the front nine, par, eagle, par, eagle, birdie! Five under for 5 holes! Unfortunately Tom had an off day and my short game let me down big time, practice needed.
