A busy week at Moortown There was no competition last weekend, but there was still plenty happening at the club during the week. A fitting tribute On Sunday there was a great gathering of of juniors past and present to pay tribute to Stewart Laws who is standing down after 12 years as junior organiser. The club gave a trophy in Stewart’s name to played for by the juniors, which took the form of an aggregate competition over the summer months which was also presented on Sunday. The inaugural winner was Jack Ellis who along with brother Joseph seemed to be putting in a card nearly everyday during the summer holidays! A fitting tribute to Stewart who has done a fine job over the years and I know was very moved to think that a Trophy will be played for in his name just like the one for his mother. |
