Lawson Brown Final
There was no competition last weekend, the weather on Saturday turned out much better than forecasted but the heavens opened on Sunday and nearly 2 inches of rain fell in total over the weekend. The good news was that the new ditches all seemed to be doing their job, and come Monday afternoon there was hardly any water in them which is just how it wants to be.
Julian Wells and Russell Gunning had an epic battle in the rain on Sunday in the final of the Lawson Brown. Having never been up during the match Julian came back from dormie 3 down to clinch victory on the 21st hole. Well done to Julian, a long term regular pupil on not only winning the Lawson Brown but also the Intermediate and losing out in the final of the Greenwood Shield; quite a year. Commiserations to Russell who has also had a fantastic year, and is currently leading the aggregate heading into the last competition on Saturday.
