Jonathan Greenwood and his partner Martin Johnson produced some fantastic golf to take the Jubilee Trophy by two points from Andrew Thirkill and his guest Neil Coyne, with The Captain finishing in 3rd place with his partner Eddie Hampson. Jonathan and Martin got off to a slow start bogeying their first hole the 15th, but three gross birdies and four nett birdies saw them to 43 points.
On Saturday we welcomed the Tour de Ryder Cup, four Yorkshire golfers cycling to every Ryder Cup venue collecting a flag to present at The Ryder Cup. They have raised over £12,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Melanoma UK. Our Captain was on hand to present them with a flag and ensure they were fed and watered before setting off on their travels on Sunday - next stop Ganton.
The Moortown Masters on Sunday was won by Luke Walker from Ulverston with scores of 72 and 73 beating Ben Hutchinson from Howley Hall on the back 9. It was a good day from Moortown members with Phil Tomkinson finishing 3rd after rounds of 67 and 79, and Andy Jones finishing 4th with rounds of 73 and 76. Tom Gray won the best nett and Pete Owens was second in the nett prize.

A very exciting week ahead for me at Gleneagles, it all became very real when my uniform and itinerary arrived. Very proud to representing Europe in the PGA Board match against the USPGA Board, I'm paired with an Italian PGA professional Lucca SalvettiI on Wednesday at Buchanan Castle Golf Club - wish me luck. I still don't know if I will be asked to be an official observer for one of the matches, but even if not I am sure it is going to be a very special week. I'm sure we will all be glued.
