It was prize winners galore last week, with both the Ladies and Gents Annual Dinners and Prize Presentations. I understand that Margaret Calvert had the ladies in stitches at their dinner with a very funny speech. That's all the information I was given so you'll have to ask the ladies for more information.
I heard many comments that the Men's Dinner was the best ever, the food as ever was superb and Alan Tait, a fellow PGA Professional entertained us with some good jokes and great story telling of when he play with Ben Crenshaw and Tiger Woods. I remembered more of the jokes and stories than normal - it must be this tee-total November!
I have been really busy with my winter coaching programmes. The pupil under spotlight this week is Rod Fisher - Rod had never really had lessons before and came wanting to get a better ball flight with his irons, which were losing length and subsequently Rod was using his hybrids more and more. The main focus with Rod in his first few lessons has been to work on his posture and body alignment. Rod's shoulders were very open, his back a little too rounded and causing his head to be too far in front of the ball. This lead to a steep angle of attack and a weak clubface at impact.
As you can see the posture on the right looks squarer and more athletic.
From face (left) on you can see how the head is much more behind the ball at address (see the black line of the wall as a reference point.) Result at least one club maybe two clubs longer already. Not sure I can keep those gains up for the next 12 weeks!!
Trolleys
The ultimate trolley bag combination? Sun Mountain has introduced this combination trolley/bag that could even be taken abroad in a flight bag. Click here to view images and see what you think.
I am really pleased that we have been able to re-arrange the ladies Rohnisch and Galvin Green evening that had to be cancelled the other week. It is now scheduled for Wednesday 10th December at 6pm.
