Like you I'm getting pretty sick of these Saturdays - considering we've had one of the best years on record for weather we seem to have been disrupted on Saturdays more than ever. Last Saturday we had another fog delay - this meant with a full field we wouldn't have had time to get everybody round, so the competition was postponed to this Saturday.

There was some confusion over who had the honour on the tee at 11am when the course opened. The procedure is that the start sheet times still apply in time order - bit like waiting for a bus in a queue. In reality most people don't hang around so there will only be a few games. The best idea is to agree to dissipate around the empty course and then as many of you as possible will be able to get a full round in, if in a strange order!

The greenkeepers have been busy over the past few weeks and you will have noticed many new pine trees have been planted on the course. I think they have made a dramatic difference already, but look forward to seeing them grow going forward. Other work that maybe you don't see but is already is making a huge difference is the ditch work. The ditch to the left of the 4th hole has been lowered and cleared of old trees and rocks and the flow of water from the 1st, 18th and practice ground increased enormously, this can only help keep the course drier and open more often.

Whilst on course matters, with the course a little softer now we are seeing more pitch marks on the green, here's a little video on how to repair them properly and limit the damage to the greens.
