Competition Round-Up
It is always nice when at the end of the winter coaching in the first individual competition to see two of my pupils doing so well. Phil Murtagh won the first division of the Stableford the week before last with 37 points despite a blob on the 16th hole. We have worked on Phil’s driving this winter trying to not only gain more distance but on accuracy – on Saturday I understand that Philip hit 13 of 14 fairways and “all were long – Good coach” Thanks Phil, also a lot of hard work on your part. In division two Jack Cooke finished second on 36 points behind Tim Broadhead and said he had putted horrendously, and it could have been so much better. Think we might be working on the putting green next Jack.
Winners of the Am-Am last Saturday were the team of Paul Turner, Dave Ellis, Geoff Mortimer and Paul Shires with a great score of 86 points. Runners Up were Kenny Miller, Patrick Kemp, Andrew Blackburn and Jamie Chappell 84 points
