Competition Round Up Another full start sheet last Saturday saw more fantastic scores despite the break for some heavy rain and thundershowers. Charles Lupton lead the way again all-day continuing his fantastic form since lockdown with a 67 nett to win the first division and get a handicap ESR seeing his handicap reduced to 7.7. Adam Gunn took second place and pipped Josh Stephens to the Tankard Trophy. Rory Wilson pipped Kevin Henry for division tow honours, both obviously benefitting from their regular coaching from Eddie. In the Veteran’s Trophy, it was Jamie Allison with a fine 73 gross nett 70. Jamie was delighted when I told him, saying he had won The Tankard Trophy, Club Championship and now The Veterans – not sure there will be too many members able to claim that trio? When the clubhouse re-opens I will check the honours boards to see. The Hartley Trophy was won by Roger Limbert, beating one of his regular partners Jack Cooke on the back nine. Roger had a word or two to say on the subject, and it transpires it is the first individual trophy he has ever won. Just goes to show that good things come to those that wait!
