Well, twelve years of people moaning there are too many white tee competitions and only 15% played off the yellow tees! I think once the rough grows up next month it might be a different story but we'll give the experiment this year and reassess. Jack Cooke obviously thought it was a great idea as he won the Yellow Tee Medal with a fine nett 70. I was quick to congratulate Jack (I think you already know he was on my winter coaching programme), especially as it meant he wouldn't now be getting a shot on the 1st hole in the Captain & Pro Challenge on Friday this week!
Marcus Shepherd fired the best round of his life to score a one under par gross nett 66 to romp home in the White Tee Medal. Richard Cooper was obviously back in form with a nett 71 for second place.

The course has stood up brilliantly to the torrential rain this week, and with some fine weather around the corner it is just going to get better and better.
The Mixed Open last Monday attracted a field from far and wide and was won by the Captain from Brancepeth Castle and his wife- Steve and Julie Rose. The only bit of Moortown success was Lady Vice-Captain Didi winning the ladies nearest the pin.

Whilst mentioning Brancepeth Castle, a reminder that there are still a few unpaid for The Captain's Away Day on the 29th May and the date is fast approaching.
It's another busy weekend at the club, with a four ball better ball on Saturday and then the course is closed until 4pm for the Am-Am on Sunday.
